Tellison are out on tour at the moment on the back of new singles Boy and Tact Is Dead from their forthcoming album. Their show at Oslo, other than being a singalong scene that some arena bands would wish for, has added to the excitement surrounding their new album – some of the songs have been played for so long now that I want nothing more than to hear them on record. Support on the night came from The Spills and Johnny Foreigner; I’ve never heard The Spills prior to tonight but I hope to hear a lot more from them now, their music is fantastic, akin to early Weezer but with it’s own charm. Both Johnny Foreigner and The Spills were added to the bill after a fallout with the promoter of JoFo’s Jazz Cafe headline show – the Jazz Cafe’s loss was certainly our gain. It was particularly exciting to hear a new track from the band, a fairly upbeat track introduced confusingly as slow. Hopefully this means a new record on the horizon.
