Track of the Day: Looks – Back To The Fire

It never hurts for a band to be ambitious and, after naming their debut single ‘Everest‘, you get the impression that Looks have ambition in spades. And it seems as though they’ve poured all this ambition into their follow-up track ‘Back To The Fire‘ in a bid to make people sit up and take note.

For us at 7Bit, it has worked. ‘Back To The Fire‘ is a mixture of grandiose synth-pop and imperfect indie that makes sure the track feels like an entity in its own right. The pop elements help the track to reach the anthemic heights that Looks are aiming for, whilst the guitars give it a nitty-gritty rawness. It amasses to make a hooky track that reels you in without even realising it.
