Mixtape: What Happened Next? BOTD Edition

Back in May, we ran a mixtape looking at what past Track of the Day artists had gone on to put out next after being featured in the column. Ever since then, it’s only been a matter of time until our past Band of the Day featurees received a similar treatment. Since 2012 there has been no end of new music from every genre we could possibly sink our teeth into that we’ve been honoured to share with you here. Now, we feel that there’s no better way to welcome the feature back from its hibernation than checking in with some of the very best acts we’ve shone a spotlight on in the past two years.

From Public Service Broadcasting to Marijuana Deathsquads, our Band of the Day feature has travelled across the whole world as well as a huge genre spectrum. Heavier acts such as Baby Godzilla and Night Verses have bombarded our ears, the more abstract worlds of Flamingods and Shama Rahman have been explored, and we’ve been struck by a rather recurrent synthpop obsession driven on by the likes of Strangers, Knocking Ghost and Whitemoor. It’s been a wild ride from day one, and 7bit has felt a little empty these past months during the feature’s decreased activity.

From Monday, we welcome it back with a bang, as the best names that have entered our world during June and July are unleashed upon yours. Band of the Day, Part Two. Enjoy the ride.
