Track Of The Day: Tigercub – Blue Blood

There’s been a few bands recently who I’ve checked out entirely on the grounds on them playing Y Not Festival, and one who seriously grabbed my attention were Brighton’s Tiger CubNow seems a pretty apt time to praise the band, with the announcement of their new 7″ single ‘Blue Blood’ coming out in May, and the A side available to stream online now.

What you get with ‘Blue Blood‘ is three whole minutes of loud, grungy music, some husky vocals and one hell of a chorus. The structure isn’t too far off of Nirvana’s best known tracks, with the fuzzy sections, clean sections with raw vocals and then more fuzz. It’s certainly not totally unique, but Tiger Cub are clearly good at what they do.

The single will be available on May 5th from Raygun Records, and the band will be heading out on a few dates to support the single, including the Bermuda Triangle in Brighton on April 25th, The Shackwell Arms in London on May 2nd (Free entry, to launch the single) and some shows at The Great Escape in Brighton.
