Regular readers of this feature are likely to be quite shocked by the choice of track I’m throwing your way today. After all, normally we go for cutting edge, only-just-released tracks and this track from Glitches is almost 6 months old; which in terms of this feature is ancient. However, their set at the XFM Xposure All Dayer made me vow to include them in our Track of the Day; even if it meant bending a few rules.
‘Only Time Will Tell‘ plays perfectly into the electro-indiepop genre, a genre I predict will come right into its’ own over the summer. Though this track belongs to last summer, it’s no less valid for it– it has timeless summertime licks plastered all over: melodic synths, saccharine sweet vocal harmonies and a fission of energy from the hooky guitar.
For me this track gives that burst of colour in an otherwise miserable January. It’ll have you tapping your toes and singing along to the “only time will tell” in the chorus in no time flat.
