Monthly Soundcloud Roundup: April 2013

We think it’s just about time to say that sunshine and good vibes are finally with us and if there’s anything better than teaming glorious weather with great tunes then we haven’t heard of it. As we finally bid farewell to April Showers, we’ve handpicked the best tracks from the last few weeks to share with you, and this month has an eclectic mix of the most beautiful acoustic tones, sun drenched feels and soaring soundscapes. Best enjoyed with sunlight, good company and maximum volume.

Josh Record- For Your Love

Acoustic Londoner Josh Record, is pursuing the trend of hugely talented singer songwriters emerging from the city. Having played a headline show at The Lexington last week, it’s hard to believe this musician is only just beginning his career in the spotlight. For Your Love is a beautiful number, ethereal pure and showcasing perfectly his sublime fragile vocals. Having recorded his debut EPBones in his Brixton bedroom, the stillness and subtle tones convey themselves perfectly on this number and, we’re impressed already.

Daughter- Perth/Ready For the Floor

Daughter graced the Radio 1 live lounge earlier this month with a special mash up of Bon Iver and Hot Chip. within this track, Daughter showcase skills which only a true music genius can possess. not only the power to make tracks their own, but the epitome of beauty in every sense. grasping tightly to the raw, heartbreaking tones Daughter is so loved for, sensual guitar lines glide throughout the piece, in the most powerful and magical way possible. prepared to be blown away by this.

Global Girlfriend – Solar

Canadian duo Global Girlfriend have got many blogs a flutter with the unveiling of their latest work Ceremony and we cant help but join with them. Solar Year’s debut full length “Waverly” of which this track will feature is out in June, but for now enjoy the swirling, and hypnotic scapes which create a very special track. intricately laced with reverbded elusive vocals, and texture ans shapes of dreamy sonics.

London Grammar- Wasting My Young Years

Having emerged from nowhere last December with the stunning debut ‘Hey Now’, London Grammar are fast becoming a band who consistently deliver to the most beautifully high standard. Wasting My Young Years was debuted last week, and as expected the track is a thing of wonder. Lead vocalist Hannah Reid prevails with strength and beauty, so pure and powerful it strikes with a hit straight in the soul. we would expect no less.

Polica- Tiff (feat. Justin Vernon)

Could this possibly be the best collaboration of the year so far? we sure think so, Polica and Bon Iver front man Justin Vernon intertwine spectacularly on latest track Tiff, and if its his woven smoky acoustics you’re so used to hearing, this may be a surprise. with policas spacey, sparse vocals, and touchs of Vernon’s warm textured arrangements, the track is brilliantly produced, especially amongst the synthy seductive soundscape.

Chris Malinchak- Good To Me

Here is a taste of summer we so desperately need, as the sunshine has finally decided to make an appearance , this track goes hand in hand perfectly. brimming with fizzy synths, silky beats and a lot of soul, Chris Malinchak has created a huge tune right here. sun kissed, soul drenched and feel good. and if you’re a fan of giraffes be sure to check out the official video.
