Band of the Day: The Dialogue

It’s unorthodox of me to write about a band that aren’t around any more so consider this a brief obituary/tribute to one that posthumously deserve a mention, especially one that produced such a good debut and were to most just a blip on the social conscience radar. The Dialogue produced a true wind-down sound, each track on their debut/final album ‘Wet Dreams’ having a pulse-calming, summer-complimenting effect.

Lead singer Drew Schaffer’s voice has a soothing quality to it, timid yet ever present and floating carefree across similarly enchanting melodies provided with ease by producer/guitarist Brian Pollack and bassist Justin Goodman. Drummer (and Justin’s brother, perhaps?) Jordan Goodman sits back and seems to go with the flow as he offers subtle ambience beats.

They released ‘Wet Dreams’ right at the end of 2011 and it was worth every penny. A stream of the album in its entirety is below; if you want to buy any of the independently great tracks or the whole bunch, then iTunes/Amazon are the places to go.

I sincerely hope that we see these four around soon in one way or another. RIP The Dialogue.
